Marlene Cohen receives Robert H. Wurtz Award And Lecture In Systems Neuroscience

Congratulations to Professor Marlene Cohen, PhD, for being the inaugural recipient of the Robert H. Wurtz Award and Lecture in Systems Neuroscience!
The Robert H. Wurtz Award and Lecture in Systems Neuroscience is a new initiative that recognizes advancements in neural research, including discoveries deciphering how brain circuits generate vision and guide behavior, and how their dysfunction contributes to visual disorders and disease. The goal is to inspire a new generation of scientists whose integrative, system-focused work probes the neural architecture of visual perception, eye movement control, attention, and disease mechanisms.
The award honors Bob Wurtz, PhD, whose work profoundly influenced the field of neuroscience. The recipients are chosen by a panel of esteemed scientists from NIH and top universities. This program is managed by the FNIH and the National Eye Institute (NEI), based on the generous support of Dr. Wurtz and his wife, Emily.
Dr. Cohen will present a lecture at the NIH on Thursday, September 4, at 3:00 pm (ET).
